Today, a turbocharger is basically standard equipment in many cars, regardless of the capacity of their engines, the number of cylinders or the purpose of the vehicle - once they were the domain only of sports cars. If turbochargers are used incorrectly, their failure will unfortunately have a significant impact on the vehicle's efficiency. Therefore, an efficient turbocharger is a condition for the proper operation of the drive unit. Replacing the turbocharger is possible thanks to new or regenerated elements available from Arcoore.

How does a turbocharger work?

Cummins QSB6.7 turbocharger. The HE300VG is powered by the exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine, which flow through the turbine wheel and are further expelled through the exhaust system. Through the shaft, the rotational motion of the turbine rotor is transmitted to the compressor rotor. This, in turn, compresses the air that enters through the intake and filter. The air can then be directed straight to the intake manifold. However, most cars, especially modern designs, use an intercooler in which the air heated after compression is cooled again before being introduced into the combustion chamber.
